2013
SGMF was established with a pioneering vision, becoming the only organisation of its kind dedicated to promoting safety and industry best practice in the use of gas as a marine fuel.

2018
Building on strong maritime foundations, SGMF expanded its remit and became a trusted voice at the International Maritime Organization, contributing to the development of comprehensive guidance for a more sustainable future.

2024
SGMF evolved beyond its initial focus to embrace all low flashpoint fuels covered by the IGF Code. This expansion strengthened our cross-sector impact while reinforcing our position as the maritime industry’s cornerstone for dependable, fact-based information.
