How We Work
As a membership-based organisation, our members are at the core of everything we do.
SGMF is governed by a representative Board and supported by two principal committees, each with a distinct remit:
- Technical Committee – focused on technical, operational and safety-related matters
- Environmental Committee – focused on decarbonisation, emissions and environmental performance
Committee members are elected for a three-year term following a thorough application process. This ensures the required expertise is in place and that committee representation fairly reflects both the membership and the wider industry.
Through our Board and committees, SGMF establishes working groups and focus groups to address specific challenges and to develop practical outputs such as guidelines, checklists and other industry resources.
All publications are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the latest industry developments and emerging best practice.
