To date, we have produced over 40 ISBN publications on low and zero carbon fuels, under the five categories of safety, technical, environmental, contractual and training and competence.

All our documents are knowledge- and fact-based and draw on experience from the maritime industry as well as from related industries such as ammonia production.

In addition, SGMF works together with leading research institutes to conduct life cycle assessment (LCA) studies on the different marine fuels.

The landscape of marine fuels is constantly evolving. In the coming years, it’s likely that a mix of different low and zero carbon fuels will be needed to achieve decarbonisation across different ship types and operational profiles.

SGMF’s outputs include key tools, such as our Five Pillars, that the shipping industry can use to inform their fuel decisions.
